NW-38 Sheltering Tree Autumn

NW-38 Sheltering Tree Autumn

Model stitched on
28 ct. Pearled Barley linen by Lakeside Linens,2 over 2, using
Gentle Art Sampler threads.

Aged Pewter
Dark Chocolate
Old Brick
Wheat Fields
Terra Cotta
Pumpkin Pie
Country Redwood
Sarsparilla

The stitch count is 94 X 89.

I finished mine by mounting it on acid free matte board,

and then I mounted some coordinating cranberry homespun fabric
on a foam core board that is cut 1/2 inch bigger on all sides
 to frame it.

I hot glued these pieces together
and put them face down on a couple layers of
terry cloth towel (so as not to crush the cross stitches)
and layered lots of heavy books on top.
The Gospel writers are always glad to help!

When that was all dry and firm I used applique glue to attach a thin hemp cord all around the cross stitch piece to give it a finished look.

I use Roxanne's Glue Baste-it. Look at that awesome tip! It places just the smallest dot of glue right where you want it.

I then hot glued it onto wooden slatted panel frame that I found at Hobby Lobby (item number 1303692).
These frames are found in the wood section. They have a little easel on back perfect for standing them up anywhere you want a little cuteness!

Then I made a bow out of 1 1/2 inch cranberry homespun ribbon and attached a little burlap daisy I found in the floral section at Hobby Lobby.
I hot glued that to the top and Wallah!
Super cute!

This cute pattern is the third in a series.
If you want to stitch them all
you can pick them up
 in my etsy shop
here and here!

If you stitch it send me a photo!
I would love to see what you have done with it!

XOXO,
Annie

Some Stitchy Progress

I started this one in January, and I have just stalled on it for so long. I put a few more stitches in it the other day. I really want to finish it because I have the Autumn ABC's and the Summer ABCs to do. I would eventually like to finish the whole series and be able to change them out Priscilla-style!

Here is my progress:
So I'm getting there!

I did finish Sampler Hill and I LOVE IT!
Sampler Hill by With Thy Needle and Thread

Isn't it beautiful! I haven't framed it yet but I will! I cant wait to have this hanging on my wall!

I also finished some little patriotic pieces:

America- a freebie by Glory Bee!

A little flag scissors keep that was a class with my local EGA group. Isn't it cute? It is all done in specialty stitches.
And I finished Bless Our Home, which was a stitch-along(SAL) with Priscilla and Chelsea!

Bless Our Home by Country Cottage Needleworks

Here is a pic of my meager little patriotic display:

In other news...
We attended a bridal shower for my soon to be daughter-in-law Emily. Im so excited for Lucas! They will be getting married in Milwaukee in September!Wow! I can't believe 3 of my kids will be married now!
Here is a pic of my DIL Anneliese with baby Coco, and my soon to be DIL Emily!

Aren't they beautiful! And 2 of the sweetest girls that were ever seen! I am very blessed to have these 2 beautiful new daughters in my fold!

We also had a beautiful baptism for baby Corinne!
What a blessing! She wore a family heirloom christening gown that Anna and her sister Katrina both wore-how sweet is that!
Here are my girls:
And Anneliese's sister Katrina was the Godmother!
It was a wonderful day!

And finally, here is a pic of my new releases:
I will be adding a detailed post about the Autumn Sheltering Tree very soon.
Thanks for reading my post if you have made it this far!

Happy stitching!
XOXO

A Few Finishes and Some Progress

After Stitch Maynia, and the June monogamous stitching on Sampler Hill, I really needed a finish!
So I checked my Xstitch App, where I catalog all of my WIPs,
and started looking for some small projects that I felt like I could finish rather quickly.
I just really. needed. a finish. LOL!
So I finished up Farmhouse Christmas:
Farmhouse Christmas Block 1 by Little House Needleworks

Stitched on 32 count Raw Natural.
with all of the called for colors.

I also finished a little freebie chart from Glory Bee called America
America by Glory Bee

Stitched on an old old old piece of 14 count Fiddlers Cloth
with my own conversion of  Classic Colorworks:
Barn Door
Blue Corn
Blackbird
Bamboo
Whatley Woods

I swear I wasn't trying to pick all colors that started with "B"! LOL!

Next, at my local EGA guild meeting we did a sweet little flag which is meant to be a pin, but I finished mine as a scissors fob.
It has Symrna, Scotch, and Rice stitches. I used the same Classic Colorworks as above for the Glory Bee piece.

I worked a little on my Prairie Schooler Garden Sampler;
Garden Sampler by Prairie Schooler

I am stitching this on 32 ct. Patriots Brew by R & R. using the called for DMC.

I have worked some more on Sampler Hill, here is my progress;
Sampler Hill by WTNT
I actually have more of the border and right hand tree done since I took this picture. I am really hoping for a finish soon!

And lastly, though I need another start like a hole in the head, I started Alphabet En Blanc by Sue Hillis, as a Stitch-Along with my friend Liz at Sunflowerpatternco on Instagram. We both fell in love with this piece after Deb and Liz showed it on their flosstube video at Country Stitches. Believe it or not this is my first Sue Hillis piece.
I don't have enough started to even show, but I an stitching it with some Ecru DMC that I coffee dyed myself. Update soon!

So that is where I am here at the end of June. Of course I am model stitching as well. I should have 4 new releases in late summer.

Family update:
We had all 4 granddaughters together for Fathers Day!

Aren't they the cutest!
L to R are Hideko, Mei, Amy and baby Corinne!

And last weekend we had Amy's 5th Birthday!
She is the oldest grandchild and it is mind-boggling to think about how much life has changed in the past 5 years!
Toddler Mei helped herself to a handful of Amy's Ariel cake!
LOL!
Never a dull moment!

Thanks so much for stopping by!

Keep on stitching!

Good morning!
After starting 7 new projects in May for Stitch Maynia, like a lot of others I decided to become a manogamous stitcher in
June.
I have worked on Sampler Hill by Brenda Gervais (With Thy Needle and Thread). I am just loving this!

I am using the called for colors, and as some have noted when I shared on Instagram, it doesnt look anything like the picture. The colors are very pale/pastel and vintage looking. I absolutyely love it!

It took me a while to get through the hill, but not as long as I actually thought it would.
(excuse the wrinkles!)

As I continue on, I am working on the right side border, and then I will just have the right side motifs to do and I will be done!

I really love this piece and cant wait to get it up on my wall!

To see my Stitch Maynia choices and a close up of some models go here:

As the summer presses on, I am busy working on my Fall releases. Right now I feel like they will never come together, as it seems I am not satisfied with any of the models and keep pulling out colors and putting in new ones. I will get it right, but it is just a little frustrating and requires a lot of patience!

I hope you are having a wonderful summer so far. We have been hit with a plus 90 degrees heatwave, but that does work well for staying indoors in the air conditioning and stitching!

XOXO,
Annie

Chart Correction on NW-33 Sheltering Tree Spring

My apologies!
Somehow the pink flowers were inadvertently left off the tree in the Spring Chart!

Here is what it should look like:

Thank you!
