All Hearts progress

Here is my progress on the freebie ornament(see post below). I love the Gentle Art sampler threads so much. I'm sorry the pic is dark,  I took it at night.
It was under my lamp too, so it has sort of a yellow-y cast. I will get a better pic of the finished piece..

I have sold Louisa. She was on TDIPT last month. The buyer asked me to add hair all the way to the back in case she wanted to display her with her bonnet off. I love the way she turned out!
A lot of times if the bonnet is sewn on, I only put hair in the front where you can see it. But I like the way she looks, don't you?

Silk Ribbon dolls reticule

Here is a quick pic of the dolls reticule I promised earlier today.
It is for my doll Lily, which is a pattern I have been trying to rework. It is one of my earliest patterns, and the doll hair I used then is no longer available. I have tried to recreate the hairstyle using hair that is available today but I am not having much luck. Now I'm considering re-releasing the pattern with a bonnet. Seems like kind of a cop-out, but like I said, the hairstyle is almost impossible with what is available today.
Here she is:
This is with the old hair, which was an awesome spun wool which was curled in a coil, and was all in one long piece. So with the new wool. which is shorter pieces, I could do a bonnet with a little hair showing at the top. I don't know, perhaps I'll keep exploring the yarns available out there.

Bad hair day

Here is Alice. She is a small cabinet sized doll, about 15 inches. That is small for me, I usually make dolls in the 20 to 30 inch range. I painted her in oils, which I love. I hope to do a lot more oil painted dolls this winter.
The problem with Alice is I used tibetan lambswool for her hair. Now it is huge and unruly, and I don't know what to do with it, It looks like she stuck her finger in a light socket!
This photo shows the fabric I will be using for her dress. She will be the classic Alice in Wonderland, but what to do about
THAT HAIR!
Here she is full size. But do you see that hair? I have tried tying it back like the classic Alice, but it just pops out all over! Maybe once I have her dressed something will come to me. Or maybe she will just be
Alice of the Unruly Hair!

Ester on TDIPT Mercantile!

Ester is ready and currently up for adoption on TDIPT Mercantile!
She has such a folksy style, in her regency gown and smartly trimmed bonnet!
Her sweet face would look sogreat peeking out amongst antiques and cherished treasures!

Her gown and pantaloons have been carefully created with grow tucks and lace for that old fashioned look!
I have made a little bluebird for her to hold!
Ester will come signed and dated with free shipping!

19th Century bling!

I decided to add some millinery to  spruce up Ester's bonnet a bit.
These gorgeous little blue flowers are actually made of paper. I bought them at a Japanese festival we went to in June.
I also added some little paper beads from the bridal dept.(wonder what I'm doing shopping there!) I'm loving just how shabby chic she is turning out!

This is Ruby!

I am quite enamored of her!

She will be about 28 inches tall.
I'm trying to decide if she will have a bonnet, a hat or if I'll just continue with her hair.
I love the way her face came out-I used acrylic paint and colored pencil.
Still one of my favorite techniques!

Folk doll joy!!
