I am working on the Alabama Baby made from Deanna Hogan's pattern and face mold. So far I love this pattern, it is very easy to follow. I like all of the pictures included, so it is a step by step process. That is helpful to me as I have never used a face mold before. This picture is the cloth body and molded head and back of head. They have been glued on and are drying. Once dry, I will start adding paperclay to fill in the gaps and finish the head. Here is a wonderful tutorial from Deanna that shows how the entire process works.
I have a new doll for sale on ebay! Her name is Julia, and here she is with her little punch-needle cat named Ginger.
I really had so much fun making her! Her head and shoulder plate are hand sculpted out of paper clay. Her body is all cloth, with painted arms and legs.
She is all my original design. It has been so long since I have made a doll, I really enjoyed it again!
