A Few Finishes and Some Progress

After Stitch Maynia, and the June monogamous stitching on Sampler Hill, I really needed a finish!
So I checked my Xstitch App, where I catalog all of my WIPs,
and started looking for some small projects that I felt like I could finish rather quickly.
I just really. needed. a finish. LOL!
So I finished up Farmhouse Christmas:
Farmhouse Christmas Block 1 by Little House Needleworks

Stitched on 32 count Raw Natural.
with all of the called for colors.

I also finished a little freebie chart from Glory Bee called America
America by Glory Bee

Stitched on an old old old piece of 14 count Fiddlers Cloth
with my own conversion of  Classic Colorworks:
Barn Door
Blue Corn
Blackbird
Bamboo
Whatley Woods

I swear I wasn't trying to pick all colors that started with "B"! LOL!

Next, at my local EGA guild meeting we did a sweet little flag which is meant to be a pin, but I finished mine as a scissors fob.
It has Symrna, Scotch, and Rice stitches. I used the same Classic Colorworks as above for the Glory Bee piece.

I worked a little on my Prairie Schooler Garden Sampler;

I am stitching this on 32 ct. Patriots Brew by R & R. using the called for DMC.

I have worked some more on Sampler Hill, here is my progress;

I actually have more of the border and right hand tree done since I took this picture. I am really hoping for a finish soon!

And lastly, though I need another start like a hole in the head, I started Alphabet En Blanc by Sue Hillis, as a Stitch-Along with my friend Liz at Sunflowerpatternco on Instagram. We both fell in love with this piece after Deb and Liz showed it on their flosstube video at Country Stitches. Believe it or not this is my first Sue Hillis piece.
I don't have enough started to even show, but I an stitching it with some Ecru DMC that I coffee dyed myself. Update soon!

So that is where I am here at the end of June. Of course I am model stitching as well. I should have 4 new releases in late summer.

Family update:
We had all 4 granddaughters together for Fathers Day!

Aren't they the cutest!
L to R are Hideko, Mei, Amy and baby Corinne!

And last weekend we had Amy's 5th Birthday!
She is the oldest grandchild and it is mind-boggling to think about how much life has changed in the past 5 years!
Toddler Mei helped herself to a handful of Amy's Ariel cake!
LOL!
Never a dull moment!

Thanks so much for stopping by!

Keep on stitching!

My 2017 Rotation and a Finish!

So I'm starting to get into a groove, and I've worked out a 2017 rotation of sorts.

I confess, I have a lot of big WIPS, or I should say UFO's. I want to get these projects finished so I have started a rotation-lets see if I can stick to it!

Here is my list of stitchy goals:

1.Santas Village-Country Cottage Needleworks. I started this the year it came out, got 1 house done and then never took another stitch until the end of 2016.
This is where I was as of Jan.1
Here is where I am now:

I finished house #2! So I want to try to finish one house a month, at the beginning of the month, and then work on another WIP from the 15th until the end of the month.
So this month I am working on:
2. All Creatures Great and Small by Barbara Ana Designs. This was my Christmas day start, as it was a gift from my husband. Here is what I got done Christmas Day:
And here is where I am now:

Of course I have many many more WIPs. I plan to work on other things intermittently. But these two are a main focus.
I still need to finish Hideko's stocking, and I would LOVE to make progress on Houses of Hawk Run Hollow. And of course all of this is in addition to designing and model stitching so...LOL!
But hey, its all good!

And I have a small finish!

Prairie Schooler Santa-Old St. Nick

This was a fun and quick little stitch. I am also going to try to do at least 1 ornament a month.

So thats what I have been working on! I received the proof pages of my article that will be in Kindred Stitches magazine-it looks wonderful! I can't wait for it to come out, its so exciting!! I think it is a June release.

Happy Stitching!
XOXO
