Rose study 1

Painting number 2, a rose study.
This one is a watercolor.

We are having a nice cool day today.
Spent the whole morning processing tomatoes from the garden and making spaghetti sauce. Once I get it all cooked down and ready I will can it so we have great sauce for the winter.
It really takes forever though!

Blue Vase

This is my first feeble attempt at oil painting. I painted it this morning alla prima. Although I know it is not good, especially the background and lack of depth, it still makes me very happy! I did the whole thing with a palette knife, which was very awkward for me. I have never painted with a palette knife before. It is a beginning anyway and that is what makes me so happy. I am going to try to do a painting a day.

Advice Cards

My advice cards I painted for my daughters bridal shower. I printed them on my new Epson Workforce and they came out beautifully. I then cut each in half and had twice as many cards. Some of the advice, especially from the littlest girls was priceless!

She has such a folksy style, in her regency gown and smartly trimmed bonnet!
Her sweet face would look sogreat peeking out amongst antiques and cherished treasures!

Her gown and pantaloons have been carefully created with grow tucks and lace for that old fashioned look!
I have made a little bluebird for her to hold!

19th Century bling!

I decided to add some millinery to  spruce up Ester's bonnet a bit.
These gorgeous little blue flowers are actually made of paper. I bought them at a Japanese festival we went to in June.
I also added some little paper beads from the bridal dept.(wonder what I'm doing shopping there!) I'm loving just how shabby chic she is turning out!
