Little Raggedy I'm working on

Little Raggedy

Close up
Here is a quick snap of this little raggedy I am working on. She is about 20 inches tall. I like the way her embroidered face came out.  I am trying to go with a more vintage look, using more embroidery than paint. She has a little bee print dress on, so I am embroidering her an apron that has a flower pot and bees on it. I don't like the way her arms came out, a little too stained. Its a prim look, just not what I was going for here.  I am starting another-this time I have aged the fabric ahead of time. We'll see how that goes...

What I worked on while on vacation

apron block
detail of embroidery on pocket
Isn't this super cute? It is the first block of a quilt called Grandma's Kitchen, by Lori Holt of Bee in my Bonnet. I love love love this quilt. I am doing it in 30's and 50's conversation prints and colors. It is all hand applique using the needle turn method. There is plenty of hand stitchery to keep me happy too! I just adore this project!
